Default 2014 Road King: How do I tighten the Auxilary Light Post?

Dropped my bike and now the auxiliary light post with the turn signal is loose. I don't see a bolt anywhere. How do you tighten this thing up? Thanks.

Be creative with a 9/16 socket .......... there are a couple of screws/small bolts which attach the turn signal housing to the assembly ... remove them and then you can us the scoket to tighten the nut on the passing lamp assy ... but not too tight ... that way you can adjust the lamp with a smack of the hand.

Thank you both. That is exactly the advice I needed and the schematic is super helpful as well.

What a great first experience on this forum.

Dumbest design on the bike.
Several simpler designs could have worked just fine.
Yep, make the socket - beats the heck out of the $70 Snap On socket!
Shame on you Snap On!

An alternative is to adapt a deep ring wrench. I simply cut a slot in mine, to go over the wire. As your mounting is loose it doesn't require any great effort to tighten it a little.

I've joked for years that nobody in H-D knows how or where that lamp assembly comes from, they just appear when required. The darned things never seem to point quite right, as if nobody has ever set them up on a bike!

I've got to imagine that there are a couple of very old HD "designers" who get together every once in a while in some seedy bar in downtown Milwaukee to have a beer and reminisce the good old days, and still chuckle over the "design" that they came up with :>(

Another alternative is using the Craftsman Maxx Access socket set...they have a hole in the middle, pretty handy for other things, too. But maybe not practical for later model Street Glides etc the have the wire that is routed into the mount...I used this method on my '06 Glide that had the wire that was routed into the fairing direct...just put a connector in the wire and I was golden.
