Default Flush mount fuel caps question

I would like to install some flush mount fuel caps on my Softail.
The Harley ones for my bike seem to be getting mixed reviews on reliability.
I will also be installing the 70900072a COMBO ANALOG SPEEDO/TACH, so the fuel gauge from the Harley kit may not be needed.
Is there a tried and true quality aftermarket product that might suit my needs?

I have a flush mount fuel cap on my breakout. had it for about a year with no issues at all. The only thing I could see going wrong with it is the trim ring which adheres to the tank with double sided tape...if enough fuel got under it as to dissolve it, it may come off. other than that, it fits and works fine.

I have had the HD flush mount fuel cap and gauge kit for three years. I have also had the combo speedo/tach as well for the same period. I have not had any problems with either. The fuel gauge on the cap as well as the fuel indicator on the speedo are relatively accurate and report similar levels. You can enable or disable the fuel gauge on the speedo/tach.

I am not aware of aftermarket alternatives for the flush mount caps or gauge. Here are other threads about the HD kit that you may find useful.

Check fitment for these part numbers. You didn't mention your year and bike.

62818-06F and 75014-06C are for '04-'06 carbureted and '01-'07 fuel-injected SoftailŽ models (except FXSTD/I)

Go this webpage and enter the year and model bike you have and the flush mounts that fit will display

I already had the Combo speedo/tach by the time I got the flush mounts, and investigated the option of a blank for installation in place of the gas gauge, particularly in light of the combo gas gauge being very accurate, but there was nothing like that available.
I got my flush mounts from Surdyke.
75027-08C FUEL CAP GAUGE,FLSH MNT,BLK 1 $167.96
I've overfilled and the stick-on bezel got soaked in gas, but it's still secure.

My combo gauge showed some moisture on the LCD after standing in the sun a few days after I rode in a storm - water leakage seems to be a problem with these - make sure that you put loads of elec grease on the connector.

Thank you, I always seem to forget to add my bike info. I did look up parts and they don't seem to fit my 08 deluxe.

If you place the year and model of your bike in your signature, it will display with every post and then you can't forget it.

1. Click 'UserCP' in the thin, horizontal bar under the forum name or thread title. It is the leftmost option
2. Then, click Edit Signature on the left
