Default '14 Deluxe ABS & Rain

Detailed the scoot Saturday, Sunday cruised up to the High Octane and had a few. On the way back just a few miles from the house the rain got me.

I don't mind the rain but the ABS brake system is a new one for me, kind of freaked me out the clunking noise and the braking. I guess I need to spend more time in the rain and get use to it.

Anyone else with input on this?

What you experienced was the system kicking in. It just means that it was working, no worries.

No experience with abs. I can understand how it would be difficult, learning curve, to put your trust into letting abs do its thing, especially when the brakes are making noises. I think youre right, more practice and gaining confidence in the system. More baggers have abs and tend to ride in all conditions more often. If you really want to learn more, I'd go ask over there also.

lmbo...my first thought was wtf, my second thought was it must be working correctly, and my last thought was I need more time with that ABS system.

I still ride the same way I did before ABS and only notice it during quick stops. I don't think of ABS as a license to ride stupid.

If you ever had the ABS kick in on your car. Makes all sorts of noises and on older cars makes the pedal pulse. You just get used to it after the first couple times.

I don't notice the abs during quick stops at all, but then again sport bikes are way more advanced than a Harley ever will be.

Dan

ABS and rain, you will notice a difference in braking than a non-ABS system.
That's a given. Where you come up with the 'license to ride stupid' is beyond me.

What I meant was that some people think that ABS is going to save you if you make bad choices like braking in corners and on loose surfaces. I didn't mean any thing personally. I like ABS but I don't depend on it.
