Hi just looking for some input on my 2003 fatboy softail handlebars, bike bought with beachbars 1 1/4 in and 1 inch centers, nice to look at but just not nice for long ride, After trying other bars the oem seem the best, yet still gotta have the chubbys with the skinny mount so as to retain the chrome riser cove and internal wireing.
Best option researched out there found is the Wild One 504 to replace the stock ones. Ready to buy but they seem a bit different.
Can anyone relate any pros and con,s before i pay 250$, or alternates? Thanks Andy
I was leaning heavy towards the same Wild Ones too for my '07 Fatty, but I did not want real wide apes, so I ended up going with the HD 14" Apes. They were only about an inch wider than my stock bars. They came with pretty beefy risers which added some more height as well. I've been real happy with my choice. They are very comfortable. I can do 90 with zero wobble and am not getting blown off the bike from catching too much wind like I might be if I had super wide apes. Some pics attached.

Are they 14's or 16's? I ask because I only see 12's and 16's listed on HD's website. I'm like you in thinking the Wild1's are a bit wide and have been considering using the 16" HD bars.
You got me thinking, so I checked my invoice. and I'll be...! My bars are 16" according to the invoice. The part # on my invoice is 56942-10B, which is the 16 in. Fat Ape Handlebar Kit with Riser on the HD Web site.
I measured the bars by setting the tape on top and going to the bend which is not the exact way to do it, but I was taking a pic with the other hand. They are more than 14" to the bend. The risers that come with the bars measure 4" to the center of the bar.
I don't know if this is truly a 16" bar or not. I know the bar and riser height together is perfect for me. I put some Alloy Art Gooden Tight Riser Bushings on and I've been real happy with the ride. The risers are solid. I have had her up to 90 with NO wobble or vibration.
Guess I better update my sig to reflect 16" apes! LOL
