I agree Jersey. It makes no sense at all. I have a better chance of winning the lottery. But we will find out tomorrow!!! I bit the bullet and bought another sprocket today. It is getting machined right now. I'll have tomorrow. I will tell you this though. Believe it or not the new, new one looks a thousand times better. The original CVO sprocket had writing in the hub section in black marker(and I don't know why), it also wasn't as shinny. And the teeth were like a goldish/tarnished look. The one I got today is perfect. The teeth are shinny silver(like my old one). I'm going to be a little bold here but I think I had a defective sprocket. We will know tomorrow night. that's much I guarantee.

Right side. Just like my stock Rim. That was the first thing I checked. And the grooves in the rim are on the Rotor side along with the hole for the valve.

Any chance that the tight fitting pulley was squashing the left bearing? That bearing might be smoked now, even with a pulley that fits onto the wheel correctly.

That was originally thought. But I can put the original sprocket on right now and ride it for hundreds of miles and it doesn't make a sound.(plus I put three sets in to make sure it wasn't that) It's the CVO sprocket. Either it is bad or the belt needs to mate to it. I will know tonight for sure. I have a brand new one. All machined out to fit the rim properly. And I'm even going to pick up new bolts tonight just because I am never taking that rim off again.....haha

If it makes the noise tonight it's the belt. If it is silent it is the sprocket. But I will know tonight if it kills me.

Good luck with tonight's work - another evening waiting in anticipation for word on how it went.

Men, I don't even know what to say here!!!!! This has been the absolute weirdest problem I have ever had.

So the bike is on the jack. The wheel is going on. I hand tighten the axle so it not loose when adjusting everything. The second I adjust the belt so it's close to having a little tension on it I spin the wheel to check for the sound. Not only is the sound ten times worse than before!!!!! But now it sounds like my axle has a pound of sand stuck to it. It was like I coated the axle in neversieze and then took it to the beach and rolled it around in the sand and then put it in my wheel. I was in shock. The axle and bearings and spacer were spotless. I cleaned them like new(every time I installed the axles I cleaned everything off and started from scratch). So I said to myself "screw it, I don't care and I've had enough. I'm going to live with the sound and go for a test ride to see how bad this new beach sand in the axle noise is now"

Take it off the jack. Go for a test ride and SILENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!! The noise is gone. I rode for a good 30 miles and it sounds great. I can hear a little itty bitty sound, but only I can hear it. You wouldn't know it was there unless you went through what I have gone through. But it is basically silent. I can hear my injectors ticking again. So I don't know what is going on. Maybe it is my belt teeth worn into the old sprocket. Maybe after a thousand miles or so it won't make the sound on the jack anymore(which I don't care if it does anyways as long as it doesn't make it while the tire in on the ground). I just don't know. But right now it is fixed. I am going to Laconia this weekend which will be a least a thousand miles of riding. So I'll update you guys on Monday.

This is unbelievable!!!!!!! Thanks again for all the concern. You guys are the absolute best. Your better than my friends******

thanks

And guess what Jersey? My next problem is almost as bad. But not worrying about that right now

My throttle grip turns the opposite way and get stuck. Must be because of straight bars and me leaning down on them. But I turn my grip clockwise to the point it gets stuck. it screws up my take offs. Adjusted the cable a thousand times. I think it's the housing and grip that should have stops in them(both brand new). But I'll worry about that later. that a whole other thread.

Start that new thread for the grips and lets get to solving that problem. Lolol

I think you're on the right path already. It doesn't really have anything to do with the bars being straight.
What brand grips are you using ?
Does your throttle snap back to neutral after you let it go?

Your idle cable might be a little too long allowing you to continue to rotate the grip after the throttle cam hits the stop.
