Today I installed Rush baloney cut slip ons with 1.75'' baffles, a HD high flow AC, and a V&H FP3 tuner. The bike runs very smooth and I only had decel popping about five times over 140 miles. When selecting the exhaust on the FP3 I choose V&H Twin Slash slip ons because they do not have Rush pipes in their database. I know the baffles on the Twin Slash are slightly larger but I doubt it makes that big of a difference. The Rush mufflers sound really good. I am glad that I went with the 1.75'' baffles, I would not want them any louder. At 70 mph they are just a nice mellow hum. I noticed that the FP3 now has choices for cams too. I plan on getting an iphone mount so I can monitor data.
On a side note, I have had previous bikes dyno tuned and I have had a dealer download on another bike. Honestly I feel like the tune I got with the FP3 is better than any of them. I had lots of decel popping with both the dyno and dealer download. Maybe the guy who did the dyno on my bike did not do a good job. My dealer told me they "had lots of problems" with the FP3. I did not even ask what kind of problems because I knew he just wanted to sell me a HD tuner and charge me for dyno time.
Does anyone know if the maps themselves get updated?
I bought mine a little more than a year ago, set it up with the recommended map, ran AutoTune a couple of times and it hasn't been out of the box since.
EDIT: I just hooked it up and ran an update.
When selecting my hardware it comes up with the same # map, but that doesn't necessarily mean it hasn't been updated.
Anybody know?
Not complaining mind you, my bike is running fantastic. Just curious...

Not sure to tell you the truth, I always keep mine plugged into the bike under the seat and havent had any problems. every once in awhile I reflash the tune to my bike. No reason really I just like to reflash after any updates have been done. Does it make a difference? Idk but it cant hurt
I thought the updates were for the app only and not the actual fp3 since everything is done through the V&H server.
I'm pretty sure that when I ran an update today, one of the two updates was firmware for the unit.
EDIT: Yes it's there.
Look on the smartphone app under "Customer Support".
There's an option there to "Check for Firmware Update".
you might want to drop a line to V&H. About which map to use with those rush mufflers. Because while I think you are correct in using the map for the 3inch twin slash, they do have different map for the baffles!!! They may tell you to use the quiet baffle map... just some food for thought........swifty

You might be right about that. I just sent them an email asking what map to use. The bike runs pretty good now but it won't hurt to ask. I did have a Pro Pipe on a previous bike. I bought a quiet baffle for it and it sounded really bad. Also, the baffle was a lot different than the standard one. It was not just smaller but a totally different shape as well. I also plan on using the auto tune feature in the near future.
