Splattttttt, thanks dude. These were an ebay find from the following person: http://stores.ebay.com/RAT-ROD-SHOPPE?_rdc=1. Here's the listing, not sure if he/she has any more: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201453303985...84.m1436.l2661.

I think they had 3 or 4 sets of these. Every couple of days they'd repost a new set after the bid closed down so keep your eyes out if you're interested. I may be wrong but I don't really think they're vintage brass emblems but that's ok by me.

I haven't seen any others like it in brass but would love to track down a source. I need to figure out how to properly wrap it without it bending at an angle. Got one more to get it really right.

That's exactly what I used! Yes, it's not difficult at all.

Just an FYI to fellow FLSS owners. Been traveling on mine this week, and happened to be near St. Augustine, Florida . The bracket I'd made to support an ammo can failed, and since I was around 1200 miles from home (and the tools/equipment to make repairs), I found a local metal fabricator/welder who fixed me up with a made-to-order aluminum replacement in a jiffy, and at a very reasonable price. Bear Welding & Fabrication LLC @ 904-338-5425. Very friendly and talented metal worker who made time to help a traveling biker.

So what exactly did you have for a bracket to support the can that failed??

Used a 1/8" steel bar 1" wide with a 2" offset bend to attach the ammo can (at two points) to the forward docking bolt on the bike's right side. Didn't foresee the amount of wind/road vibration the ammo can would incur. Had to keep re-tightening the docking bolt, using plenty of thread locker. Just wouldn't hold. Poor design on my part. The new mount is basically a flat 1/4" aluminum plate, shaped to attach at both docking bolts. The ammo can is attached to the plate at three points with 2" spacers in between. Very solid & no vibration. I can add photos when I get home if you'd like. P.S. With a little over 4,000 miles on my FLSS, I've had to replace 3 turn signal/brake bulbs already. Anyone else having bulb/electrical issues?

OK you used the docking bolts to mount your ammo can to the fender strut.. I used two 1" galvanized pipe supports and mounted mine right to the swing arm rails in two places similar to how the leather swingarm bag is mounted. So far mine has shown no signs of issues.
