Been talking to a guy about buying his 2012 fatboy lo, he lives in MS and I'd have to have the bike shipped to me. the price is 12 for the bike and somewhere between 600 to 800 for shipping which would take 3 weeks to get here. the bike has a few extras on it but I'd have to switch the bars...now I came across another guy with the same bike, same color but no extras and don't have to switch the bars. both bikes have similar mileage, both less that 1400 miles. he wants 12500 and is only 71 miles from where I live... Going to go look at this bike tomorrow with cash in hand.. Problem is, I now feel bad cause I've enjoyed talking to the other guy, but also don't want to have to wait 3 weeks...opinions?

At the end of the day, you're going to have to own and ride the bike. If the closer one is in good shape, I'd go with the known condition.
I will go with the one I can see and touch and ride before I buy one sight unseen...plus if you do not have to make any changes to it, that is a bonus....look at it as a discount.
12,000 (bike)
+700 (shipping)
+300 (bar swap)
13,000 total
12,500 (bike)
+0 (shipping)
+0 (bar swap)
12,500 total
Financially its a no brainer, plus if you have green in hand you might be able to get it cheaper if you ask
yeah that too. hate to have a bike shipped that far and it get messed up along the way. or have an issue with it.... nice slim. how comfortable is that seat?
the bike that's closer to me only has 900 miles on it, said he lost interest in riding.
