For those who are accustomed to hanging on for dear life with apehangers or something, some adjustment time may be required.

A fat rear tire (up to a point) needn't give anything up in the handling department. One can easily and quickly lay a Breakout down at the frame-scraping level, if one has much experience with riding motorcycles.

If one is old or out of shape enough that they can't get their fingers within two feet of their toes when bending over, then the Breakout probably isn't a great choice. There are many other options, one of them being motorized wheelchairs.

or have become wise enough to enjoy the ride without having to reach for it while trying to look cool. I've got bone fusion with four screws holding my lower back together, constantly reaching for handle bars is just out of the question, let alone to painful. Which is why I bought the fatboy lo, if I wanted to keep riding I had to do something different.

Totally agree, had a gsxr. Got bored of racing around at silly speeds. Rode a Harley got hooked. Felt happy and content just riding it.

It's a silly debate really. Entertaining and even informative, but still silly.

I doubt that we could all agree on one HD model to satisfy everything we want in a motorcycle. The Breakout is no different. People walk into their dealership, or look at pictures online, and they are drawn to a bike or two, or maybe even three. I doubt any of us are drawn to all of them (although I'd take any as a gift.)

Glad we all have different taste. It would look funny if we all rode the same kind of bike.

Me too! I have had metric bikes for 30 years and never really liked Harley's until I saw the Breakout - instantly loved it. Low, long, mean, fat ***, rake. clean and uncluttered.

Street Glides are my favorite "bagger"...I hate that term. And after riding one, it's too much bike for me. My wife likes the storage part. Big whoop!
