Nearly 200 is too tall a price per tire for me. If I cant find one for much less by the time my Goodyear "Sport Rib" tire wears out, I'll go back to the Avon Speedmaster Mkii....It's a vintage look with a 90 dollar price tag. Drove them for years with my springer...

Well I like a challenge ...but that tyre just doesn't show up on ANY picture anywhere, other than the Renegade one you posted ????
Are you sure it was popular? it's not something daft like a vintage car or trailer tyre or something?

I remember it in magazines. Chopper, Easyrider, American Iron and Hot Rod bike. If you don't know what a magazine is...it's like a papery Blog. :-)
I have yet to find any website that displays old motorcycle mag issues. The next Swap meet I got to, Ill buy some copies of older magazines.
Remember... that Renegade photo is no older than 1992. How can it be that a tire has been forgotten so soon??? Weird....
I still have faith in the wise membership of HD Forums...One will turn up eventually.
Someone earlier said that it reminded him of an extinct Dunlop. Dunlop still uses that center tread. So maybe....Trailer or car tire? Dunno...

I finally contacted Dunlop directly. Here is their response.

"Does not appear to be a Dunlop tire model, maybe Goodyear but they exited motorcycle tires back in the late 80s if I recall correctly. You might find something similar on the Coker Tire website" -
