Well, thanks to everyone for the replies. I don't get stopped, but like to be as "legal" as possible in the event I am. This little venture for me isn't going to solve world hunger or anything. I just have been in search of a really cool solution. I'm sure there is one out there somewhere. If I could stomach their bullshit, I'd head over to a BMW forum. Those guys come up with some funny ****!

So, here's where I'm at with this;
1) wallet - too many bikes/papers. Would like a viable option so I can hop on any bike and know I have the right papers with me.
2) second wallet with all papers in it - really? Phone, 2 wallets, keys, etc. Might as well get a man purse ("it's a European satchel")
3) tool/handlebar/swingarm bag - have had 2 jacked, don't want papers in something that is easily removed from bike. Also don't want any bags or luggage on a couple bikes. Want that clean minimalistic look.
4) metal Softail tool box - need yet another key per bike and a bit large for just papers.
5) pouch/ziplock bag under the seat - pretty chrome nuts need wrenched to stay on & seat is a pain in the *** to put back on. The most secure but not the easiest place to get to.
6) say screw it and not carry them - between the county bumpkin Sheriff's Deputies and the macho ******** Highway Patrol, don't want to give the man any more reason to hassle me.
7) one of those fancy billet document tubes - too much $$$ and too easily identified by thieves.
8) el cheapo ebay or pvc tube - too obvious to thieves unless so hidden it is a pain to get to. I saw one posted on the board that was hose clamped down by the shocks. On a lowered Softail, are you kidding me? "Sure officer, let me belly crawl under here and get it for you!" Not suspicious at all.
9) license plate tube - spent too much money on my Softbrake mount and led plate light setup to want to change it & mounted in front of the plate looks like ***.
10) license plate safe - yet another key, NOT at all moisture proof, and too thick/ugly for me.
11) jacket pocket - too many bikes & jackets. I live ON the Million Dollar Highway where layering is a necessity. It can be 60* in town and 20* over the passes. I suppose I could get a bright orange safety vest to wear over everything… no thanks.
12) keep on my iphone - no thanks. Only give them what they ask for. If you give them your phone, you've just gave them permission to look at everything on it. Photos, texts, phone numbers. If you don't hand it to them, they need a warrant.
13) ziplock bag in helmet liner - good if wearing a helmet, might have to explore as I do have different helmets for the different bikes, but tend to wear the same one most of the time and never lock it up.
14) left fuel gauge gas cap - going to explore this more as I us the odometer anyway. The fuel gauge on the Deluxe's suck.
15) some sort of keychain attachment - probably the route I'll go. Saw quite a few on ebay. Don't care how small an origami the registration is, as long as I have it right? Each bike has it's own keys/keychain and some the stack of silver dollar sized HD alarm fob.
16) bolt stash - these are cool, just need to figure a smart/secure place for one…

As a CCW instructor, I have quite a few cool and not obvious ways to carry. I am in search of a hidden-in-plain-site option. If somebody made a decal that was actually a waterproof pouch, I'd be all over it. You know, American (or Don't Tread) flag, HD logo, something you could stick onto your oil tank or horn cover that wouldn't be obvious. Similar in design to one of these…

My Deluxe has the chrome covers on the back side of the nacelle that'd be a good spot also. If I had a Capt. Itch crotch cooler, a pocket in the inside would be a good spot. Anyway, as I said, not the end of the world. Just a fun wintertime diversion while the snow is melting here. I'll post what i come up with…

Keep in mind the chrome tool box can be opened with any key so you don't need separate keys for each bike.

Yes, with the round tumbler. Some come with the two-pronged key. Still though, I like the look on some old school style bikes. Not wanting to go there on mine.

Saw this product that was made a few years back from JimsUSA.com called the "bike pocket" but it runs about $110-$150…

Easy fix for this...... buy or fabricate a bobber bracket. I bought mine from Dead Creek Cycles and ain't nobody gonna be stealing my swingarm bag! It was kind of a pain in the *** to put on but it makes sure there are no easy-to-undo straps holding the bag on and it keeps the bag nice and firmly mounted.

I am thinking you just better stay home. If you have shot down all these options, you will likely never make it out of the driveway anyway.....lol

One more option. I did this on my Sportster. A hollow passenger foot peg. I made it from thinwall 1.25" tube and made an aluminum cap with an o-ring seal. Folded up, nobody noticed it. Yet within easy reach

Thought of that when I saw these over at TwistedThrottle.com for $70...

But, your fabbing skills are better than mine! I also ran across these Todd's at Revzilla.com for $116...

I suppose I could source out a set of Convict Customs foot boards...

I carry an insurance card and my OL. The insurance card has the VIN on it. I've been stopped all over the country and that seemed to be all that I needed.
