well it does keep the slim "slim" - good luck with the project, nice lookin bike. where did you get the carbon fiber tank dash lower piece. I been looking for one that comes down and fastens over the frame like that.

It's the 3M wrap. Wrapped it over the stock leather piece. It's pretty amazing stuff if you take your time and do a good job. But it's addictive. I'm currently searching for other parts I can wrap that'll "fit" my bike.

Funny thing about this tyre swap...it's really not a drastic difference in width when it's all said and done. A 150/80 offers a similar effect, but it's the profile of this tire and the 150/80 that offers a more appealing, wider appearance.

I think it looks right at home there. oh and yeh sorry I knew that was 3M CF, I have my tank dash wrapped with it as well as my fork tube uppers and gas cap- guess we had similar thoughts eh? I used to do professional vinyl wraps back in the day as a side gig- love the 3M stuff. So I guess your tank lower piece is stock? I'm revising my seat and it would have been nice to cut it much shorter and have the tank dash strip come down like it is on your Slim.

Not the mounting/balancing, no. Wish I had the equipment tondo that at home; I hate getting service done anywhere else on my vehicles.

Shinko 777, 170/70 16. Stock 16x3 wheel. Many will say this tire is way too wide for a 3" wheel. I did a lot of searching and there's a s*** ton of sportster guys running this tire on a 3" wheel with zero issues. Inside the fender measuring between the brackets, not just the sheetmetsl, is right at a solid 7". This tire when mounted on a 3" rim is right at or just a 1/8th over 6" at its widest point. Some may say that's also not enough clearance. To each his own. Make your own risk assessments and choose based off your comfort level.

There another guy on here running the same tire and had to make some fender mods to prevent rubbing, but he's running this tire on a 5" wide wheel. That makes a significant difference.
