This is a very quiet and reasonably light modular, the Shoei Neotec. I upgraded from an HJC modular, and the difference is striking. Not inexpensive, but I plan on this being the last one I buy for a long time. I am a believer in high visibility gear, and once I tried this on and realized that I can't see it from the inside, I was sold!

a bit more "real world" info on the Nexx helmets- the inside padding is modular so it's easy to modify it as needed for glasses, BT ear piece, etc without messing up the overall fit. you can literally pull the inside pad pieces out- velcro - pop them in the oven at 200 degrees for a few minutes, then form them a bit if needed. there are separate pieces for neck, forehead, cheek, etc. For me I have higher cheeks so I pulled the cheek pieces, heated, pressed them flatter in a couple areas and perfect. Since I have the blackout shield, if I'm caught out at night I put the shield up and pop on my clear glasses. they fit fine in the helmet. same if I have the clear shield on and out in daytime, my Oakleys fit fine in the helmet. hope it helps.

I ride with an ARAI XD-4. Love this helmet. I'm sold on full face helmets and the XD-4 has great ventilation, visibility and a sun-visor. You see more adventure bike riders wearing them but the extra room in the mouth and nose really sold me. Helps keep my headphones in place too.

Just curios to see if the white helmet ran cooler? I just bought a shoei rf1200 but since all my buddies have black I decided to get white and was thinking the same thing as you...BTW the sena Bluetooth and rider to rider communication is one of the best I have ever had.

Thank you, couldn't have said it better. I wonder why a lot of people even want to ride a motorcycle. It's called getting in the wind. If you can't handle it I say get in your cage and drive. That should step on some toes, **** a few off, get some whining started. Thanks again for the words. The truth shall set you free!......:icon_mrgre en:

I was convinced that the Nolan modular was the cat's ***. Loved that helmet. When it timed out I wanted something quieter and bought the Shoei RF 1200. Wow! After getting it dialed in, it is by far my favorite of all helmets I have owned.

Dialed in? I just bought one and I'm curios what you did to dial it in.

Don't go modular, too much weight. Pay the money for a good lid, the weight savings, noise reduction and ventilation that actually works is worth every penny.

Currently running a Shoei RF1200 on the rocket (still doing the illegal beanie on the Fatboy) and its amazing, the difference between a $200 and $700 helmet is worth every penny plus...

Add a Sena 20S and the photo chromatic lens (both also worth the money) and its the best.

Checking in to see what the OP picked out....

I think the lightest full face I have come across is the Joe Rocket Speedmaster. I plan on getting another one soon. I wanted to try a modular(HJC Symax III) but I never use that feature and would just prefer the Speedmaster. I had one awhile back. Wish I hadn't gotten rid of it.

I've tried to do it. Had great intentions. I've even borrowed and tried a couple and I can't pull the trigger. I may have to go with a 3/4 with a removable, flat (not bubble) shield. This is killing me
