Default wider tire for nighttrain
does anyone know the widest tire i can use on a stock 2004 night train

With a custom wheel 18x5.5 and a 160/60-18 or 17x4.5 with a 160/70-17. With proper spaceing you will be ok.

nope, belt location/spacing plays a bigger a bigger role

i was talking to a guy with a 2001 fxst who said he put a 160 on with no changes.didn't believe him until i actully saw the bike and hedid have a 160 on it..

at my old shop we did a 180 or 200 tire on a 2004 fatboy. We used the stock swingarm ifI remember right. It was a DM customs kit.

If you're willing to go to a 9" fender, andcut off your fender struts, you can go with a 180 tire, no problem. I have a 200 on mine, but requires a little more work. If you go to the 2006 narrow pulley, then the 200 is a direct bolt up. You just change the belt, pulley, tire and wheel.

cutting the fender struts isn`t required. when we did the kit we did not want to cut the struts because wewere building this to put on our show room and didn`t want any liability issues with cutting the frame.

I've been looking at that same kit for a year now. How is it to install, pretty straight foward, and is there any cutting required?
