My Clutch is stiff, extremely stiff. It is not the cable lube, nor is it the adjustment, but rather the clutch pressure spring. I pulled the stock spring and put the SE HD clutch spring in. I like it this stiff and the positive clutch engagement. I have a new Burley Easy clutch adapter sitting in the drawer. I had the variable clutch on it, but removed it. I like just the SE HD clutch plate alone the best.

The EZ Clutch arm is available from HD and will drop right in. After you clean and lube the cable and adjust the clutch consider changing to the EZ clutch.
I did it on my 2005 Deluxe and it's considerably lighter and very smooth.

HD P/N is 36808-05 it comes with a clutch spring (don't think I used it though).

P/N on the Arm is 25605-00A

Sounds like the ramp angle will make it a little smoother. Its not that bad just different. Inner and Outer ramps are reasonable for Harley parts. If the clutch was smoother maybe I could leave the original spring and just change ramps. Not a big job.
