For anyone interested...I installed the 34 t tranny pulley on my 06 deluxe. The aim was to lower the final drive for a more relaxed 55mph cruise. I am pleased to report this was very successful! Final drive now about 3.0 down from 3.15. Very similar to my 06 dyna with a six speed and final drive of 2.96.The gearing change is noticeable in the lower gears, but I like it that way...no adverse performance issues on my bike for the way I ride it ie...ssssllllloooooowwwww. Well worht the change for a fraction of the cost of a new six speed.

How about1st and 2nd gears?

Andrews pulley from J and P was about 175$. Labor about 400. I dont think that it is too complicated a task though and would bet anyone with some mechanical inclination to be able to do this easily ( I am not sure if there are some "special" tools needed). It beats 1700 for a tranny plus 1000 to install....at least for me it was. No problems with first or second....I ride solo and have a stage 1 on my deluxe. I like it so far. I have put 250 miles on it.

Special tools required to remove clutch stuff. Big ol' honkin' special socket/tool to remove sprocket nut.

Anyone know how to figure out exactly how much my speedo is off. I assume it is reading a slower speed than it really is going after the 34t sprocket.

Did you have to change the length of your belt or was there enough adjustment room on the rear axle?

I just installed one on my 02 Heritage. love it 75 feels like 65 now

If you have a GPS or access to one you can borrow, it will give you a very accurate speed indication on longer straight roads. Set bike at 60 and let it stabilize. GPS speed will be your actual speed. Simple math will give you the ratio from that for all speeds.

Speedo error should be about 5 mph
So, if the speedometer is reading 70, your doing about 75.
