Hey everyone, have a question concerning my 2016 Breakout. I just purchased the rear axle nut covers, you must remove the rear axle and add some spacers to the right side in order to install the axle nut cover. The service guy at the local Harley dealership told me it's a simple job, just jack up the bike to remove tension off the rear wheel, remove slip on, remove the left nut, remove the axle, then reinstall with the provided spacers, torque.
Has anyone done this? Can it be that simple?

It's pretty easy. Because you are just removing the axle and putting it right back, makes it even easier..... no need to mess with brake caliper, wheel, etc.... You'll need a jack (like a J&S or at least a scissor jack)...... I am lucky enough to have a table lift & a scissor jack and it's very easy with the right tools!
I've seen a couple youtube videos on removing the rear tire on a softail, they'll show you how easy it is....

Yep, seems to be as simple as that! Install instructions come with the part or can be previewed here

Yes, its that simple..... and, it's a good idea to clean the axle and apply fresh axle/bearing grease before reinstalling.
