I've got two straps on my bags that just won't stay put at above 45 mph.
I've tried velcro and couple of other things but they just seem to not want to stay put.
Well I was at a local Tandy Leather store picking up some "Chicago screws" for my new tour pak lock and noticed that they had a huge assortment of conchos.
I got the idea that if I could add a little weight to the straps that might be enough to keep them in their stirrups.
I put 4 of them on and after a test ride of over 80 mph they stayed put!!!
Easy fix and with my military discount only cost $10.
Mine are doing the same. I also need to firm up my leather bags. Getting a little droop going on.
There's all kinds of options out there.
Search the softail forum for "saggy bags" and you'll find all the information you'll need to decide which option is right for you.
BTW- I've got "gotsaggybags" as well as their invisaloc lock kit.
Yeah, a friend of mine put concho's on his bike a long time ago and they work great. I'd like to put them on mine, but my straps are too short. I actually didn't have a problem with them until I put leather conditioner on them and now they're too short and flap in the breeze.
On the strap length, it seems Harley went to longer straps in 2008 or 2009. Mine's an 07, so they are short..
