I am pretty sure a 2001 has a crank sensor just to right of the end of the oil filter. On the left side of the crank case. It may be that. If it does not get a signal, it ECM will not tell it to fire.

I have the same issue on a 2000 Heritage carb with a stage 1 kit! Anyone come up with a fix? I rode 200 miles, ran perfect. Parked it for 5 days, hit the starter and NO SPARK! Crank Sensor?

UPDATE I followed the instructions in the HD Bible Manual "the big one" and tested the electrical system. Skip the bull **** guys and do it all from the end to save yourself a couple hours and test the Crank Position Sensor first! Mine was way under specs. Bought a new S&S sensor and WAM, fired right up!

Did that include the plug wires? As I recall they should run something like 5-8k ohm per 1' of plug wire. Mine read nil. Replaced them and it started.

Yes sir! Cam sensor is another! TY!
IMO the most likely to go is the Camshaft Position Sensor. That's the last thing the book had me check and what I had suspected to be wrong. Chatter on the forums has it saying early builds had an issue..........Had I skipped all the other inspections and jumped to the end I would have save a lot of time. Just say'n
