Hanging around the dealership yesterday, the salesman assured me that in 2018, the FLSTC would retain its current engine and not get the M8. He said the M8 would require a new frame, and there was no indication HD had done anything in this regard.
Any thoughts?

Passing through Victorville CA the sales guy spelled it ALL out for me about 3 months ago. Motor, frame, death of Dyna...only thing he got wrong was he said prices were going to be up about $2k across the board. In a stronger market maybe they would have?
It's always fun to speculate, and sometimes the truth is too crazy to believe anyway.

It wouldn't surprise me to see more choices next year. This is an introduction year, so they needed to do something different. As for me, I kinda like the blacked out look, and I'm an old guy.
