Old geaser and 09fitz, I went to the Bassani website and listened to the video. 2to1 sounded pretty loud, are there exchangable baffles? What baffles did you guys use?
I haven't changed anything. Used them as they came.
I have the rinehardt system on mine. Nice deep sound at idle and not obnoxiously loud.
Like you i had V&H slip nos and they were just too loud. I attribute that partially to the fact the front pipe dumps right below your head and the 2-1 systems push the outlet behind you.
I chose the rinehardts after hearing lots of exhausts even from touring models and in my opinion they sounded the best.
Now sound and volume are subjective so my suggestion is visit some bike nights or shows and make your choice from there.

Don't let anyone tell you Cobra is junk. Look for yourself, they are very high quality, but they did make their name in metric but have produced Harley stuff for years. just look at their fit and finish.
Yah 1968gts, I like those. I have been looking hard at the Cobras. Did you have a choice of baffles? Is it loud at idle? I like a regular kind of sound under light throttle and a much louder when I get on it!! How are these? Did you install or have it done? If you installed, any issues? THANKS
