Is there a plate or something that the radio mounts to or do you have to fab your own mount set up? Is there a install kit out there for the head unit, more than the marine cover? I'm in debate of the stealth and another I found on eBay from a place called motorcycle fairings and more, Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/253015454838. Wasn't sure how much little stuff a guy would run into needing in the install.
The stealth comes with the radio hole cut out to fit a DIN mount. It will have to be trimmed slightly bigger for a marine cover. I added a little brace to support the back of the head unit. You don't have to use a cover, but I prefer to. You shouldn't need anything special for the install other than speaker wire, power wires, connectors, etc. and a little piece of metal for a rear brace. My Woody's fairing uses a simple $5 dipole antenna, and that's what I just bought for this one. I always listen to an iPod anyway though.
The fairing you posted apears to come in primer rather than gel coat. That may not matter to you if you're planning to paint anyway. The other main differences are that the one you posted looks to take a 5 hole windshield, and the speaker openings protrude out from the fairing.
Yeah, I'm a body and paint tech, so as long as the glass or abs is good and solid, a little extra trimming and priming wouldn't kill me, probably prefer it anyway, lol. The 5 holes for the windshield and speaker pockets is what caught my eye. I feel like it'll be a better seal around the windshield and pockets will give a little more depth to the piece. I figured it'd be pretty basic, but haven't seen one up close in person and wasn't real sure there.
Has anyone had a problem with the USA Stealth Batwing rubbing on the headlight Bezel? I have a Switchback and mine is rubbing and a real tight fit.
mine rubs my aux light on the right side. I have a deluxe. Very hard for things to be perfect when you are talking about aftermarket parts, especially the cheapest option available. There is a spot on my fairing where the paint is gone because of the light, a little sharper marker touch up and it's good enough for me.
