Default Softail Slim Handlebar and Riser Question

So been a couple years since I've been on here but after doing some research I need some help. I have picked up a 2017 Softail Slim (FLSS) in April since then put a couple miles on it but was thinking about different handlebar options.

Question 1. How would a 4" straight risers with drag bars look on the softail slim and feel for comfort?

Question 2. Would I have to replace the stock lines if I put the 4" risers on?

Question 3. Also thought about 6" straight risers probably have to change the stock lines for that.

Thank you.

I would say the risers an drag bars would depend on your arm length...For me I think it'd be too far a reach to be comfortable...I'm looking at bars for my '15 slim an from what I've read an been told I can run up to 10" tall bars with the stock wires an brake line, not sure about a a hydro clutch line or the internal throttle wire though.

2013 softail slim. I put a set of risers off a deluxe, 4 inch curved. They fit great with the stock bars, but no more would fit. The wires and brake lines were at their full tilt and would go no more.

Using 4.5" pull backs with stock cables
switching to streetslammers this winter they're 10" and almost 4" narrower and should fit. Bought them from a member here who had them on their Slim

Ok thanks for the input guys. When I talked with a guy at the Harley shop he said I should be fine with the 4" straight risers not sure about 6" straight risers. Not looking to have any pullback.

The last sat time I changed out handlebars was on my 2012 Fatboy Lo and that was a pain. Not sure how this will go with the electric throttle and all.

another option is the 12" Mini Apes, I'm 6' tall and they fit me perfect, no reach issues

Your bike looks great CVOJOE. I’m looking into changing out the bars on my Slim. Did you have to change out the cables or did the stock ones fit?
