I always loved the softails oil tank, even how you fill with oil at the spout. Just classic to me, maybe I'm
Weird but now no more classic oil tank.

It was one of the most "classic" things about the softail. It also put a tank of really hot oil right by your leg with limited cooling ability and created the potential for leaks.

It definitely takes away part of the retro look. The chrome tank IS Harley to me.

You're kidding right? Either that or you cannot be looking at the right pictures.

And maybe this is their plan. Everyone keeps writing about the demise of HD now that their repeat customers like us (me at least) are getting older and the young folks are not buying. If it works and they stay in business longer to be able to support the bikes out there now that's a good thing.

I do however believe with the younger crowd it's more about money and cost than looks so they may be in the same boat anyhow....

They have money. Question is, are they going to give up the unlimited data plans, personal trainers, game systems, etc... to foot the bill?

I think they'll get a cheaper bike and make themselves feel better bashing HD riders.

Hmm, 61 and counting and been riding HDs since 1991 ... sold the last one 3-4 years ago. Been without a bike since and now seeing the new line up, I might buy myself a Low Rider again.

Don't like them all, but I think they did a bloody good job modernising the line.

Can't wait to see one in real life.
