2018 with stage 2 torque cam? Anyone?
Trying to decide whether it's worth it before the 60 day warranty window closes. I'm enjoying the Heritage stock, but if I'm going to consider it next year, it might be worth including in the papers now.

I advocate for this since this is the most performance that retains warranty. By just getting a cam, later on, you might start thinking, I should have gotten the big bore kit but won't be able to without shredding your warranty. Warranty is important on a new engine design and on a bike that costs four to five times as much as an Evo these days for example.

Guess I was trying to be less invasive. Also price/install jumps a bit higher there.
Basically I'm happy with the 114 stock and it's easily the strongest motor I've had in a Harley, but being geared taller for touring I thought the Torque cam might ooomph up the low end a bit. I should look at the ratios more closely.
Normally I'd go aggressive Stage 1 and call it good, but since I'm planning to stay warranty compliant, I was thinking the cam might spice things up a bit...
Probably just asking for trouble...
Might leave it be. Keeps getting sweeter with break in too.

The touring guys report good results with the torque cam kit since the 107 M8 has been in those bikes for about a year.
Alternatively, you could just do a pulley swap and then in a couple of years or whenever the warranty is expired, look at Fuel Moto's offerings which by then will be more mature.
Satisfy the urge to mod with styling and functional mods such as white wall tires and the various racks etc. from the Hold Fast collection.
Wide white walls with the red iron denim paint will probably look sharp.

I then compared it to a Road King and found the overall ratio in sixth gear to be 2.875.
There is a lot of incorrect information out there about the 2018's. I was turning blue in the face arguing with people that were saying the Softail M8 is wet sump a week or two ago. Of course it is dry sump, but that is one example of misinformation. I suspect something like that is happening with gear ratio discussion.

I just saw the wet sump info again. It's in the Kevin Cameron article in Cycle World. He calls it a wet sump. Maybe some bad press materials got circulated.

I am going to the dealership today to pay the rest of the money for the bike I have on order, so will be having a detailed chat on installing Stage 2 with the torque cam. I would really rather do it myself than have the dealer install it - but I need to know their commitment on warranty here in the UK....
Edited to say that I looked at the 114 to 117 upgrade, but I really can't justify it for 3ci. I think I will do Stage 2 then once the warranty expires have the heads done or use the Screaming Eagle CNC heads. 114" should be enough for me if the rest of the components are in harmony!
