Prolly due to so many posters making reference to her gender or appearance. Embarrassing really.

Its not IF it happens. It’s WHEN it happens But hopefully not for many decades, in my 8th one and still haven't ground any skin off, and have had over 20 motorcycles - did grind a big flat spot on top of a helmet once, went into a storm drain pipe that was almost tall enough...

Take care. Ride safe

Agree, Wiz. My daughter getting ready to head out with me. I insisted on a ff, boots, armored jacket or leather, and gloves before she started riding, and she's kept it up. So far...

I am that guy. I often (but not always) wear a full face Shoei helmet, over the ankle boots, gloves, and a 1 piece Aerostitch roadcrafter suit. I’ve wrecked on the track in full leathers and walked away without a scratch. That said, it really bugs me when somebody else tries to tell me or somebody else what to do if I/they didn’t ask. Ask most cagers and they will tell you that the mere act of riding a motorcycle is stupid and I believe many would outlaw it if they could.

The OP didn’t ask for opinions on her foot wear. She didn’t ask about gloves or helmets. I’m sure she is aware of the risks associated with motorcycling, why do so many people need to restate the obvious and chastise her for the FREEDOM she is exercising?

Id love to see more women riding and more women participating in these forums, how about we not drive them away with the stupidity I’ve seen so far in this thread?

^this. There's a pretty strong women's membership to this forum but they hang out mostly in the Queen's section and avoid most of the madness, although I think we'd all benefit from broader input. Jessica has had some fun stirring the pot, but A+ for being a rider on her own terms.

While I enjoy the extra kick my Breakout 114 got from Stage II, if I were to get a second M8 ride, I might stop at Stage I. I like my “Drag Bike” to have the extra kick, and it definitely does now, but it also gets about 5mpg worse mileage when riding it aggressively. (Though it gets great 47mpg with non-aggressive cruising, just as advertised.)

For this bike I accept that trade-off, and I’m hopeful that there is no reliability penalty. I don’t normally ride aggressively, so that should help it last. And the SE cam is, I understand, a relatively mild upgrade compared to some. But you’re right that the 114 is a powerful, “torquey” (ha!) motor in stock form. And with the stock cam, it’s a good balance between performance and mileage, IMO. HD engineers got the stock balance just right for most. I wasn’t really yearning for more power. Just having a bit of fun.

Still glad I did it, but no desire to go to 117. That’s for folks with 5 gallon tanks.

That forum aggravates me. They make it too obvious how my search for perfect saddlebags is so similar to a woman shopping for a purse.

Well good for her, nice ride too.
You have to protect ya self riding a bike. It’s as simple as that.
