Looked again, the vid youre talking about is the touring bike one? I wish theyd do that for the Softail line too since they usually sound pretty different. Interesting to hear though. Thanks for the tip.
Not much with Softails. Now if you look up Jamies Heritage you will see a Heritage with zombie baffles. It is a tech from Laidlaw Harley that bought an 18 Heritage and did stage three and lots of other stuff. About a third of the way through the vid he talks about his Tab slip on mufflers. His bike is insane!
Agree above, Jamie from Laidlaw's HD did a great job with that heritage, cleaned it up good. The Tabs with Zombie baffles sound killer on that ride. Think I'm sold, if I go with the louvered baffles I might regret it even thought they sound sweet on bb's video. Hmm.. either way if they are loud then I can get the other baffles and switch.

I wont lie to you, it takes just a bit to get used too. First time I started it up I though oh crap did I make a mistake. Once you get around other bikes you will see they are not terrible loud next to straight pipes. You will certainly get used to it quickly. Took me about thirty minutes and I didnt even notice the difference. I will tell you folks around you in cars know your there unlike stock mufflers.
Yeah Jamie’s bike and vid are great. Wanted to hear the louvered version too which bb’s vid helps with. The Zombies sound fun, but realistically the louvered are probably what I’m looking for on the Heritage....at least for now..
I’ve had straight pipes and other loud variants, but over the years I’ve enjoyed backing it off a few dbs. Canons weren’t awful...just a little too tame and got a bit bored with them unless I was above 3,500 rpm...which can be begging for speeding tickets. Hoping for something deeper with a little more presence from idle to cruise as well. Getting on it, all bets are off.

According to Tab you can pull them( baffles) out with a thirty dollar tool. Frankly, once you get them I will predict you will be pulling them within a couple of months. Most folks usually go for louder as they get used to the sound. Its human nature I guess. Good luck on your choice. You will not be disappointed in the quality.

I hear ya, I do tend to go louder, but I also have V&H Big Shot Staggereds on my Dyna which had the open baffle for a few years before I opted to install the famously not quiet quiet baffle. Basically it just took the raspy crackle out of the pipe, but I also liked the deeper tone it gave. From the vids the Zombies seem to have a harsher sound which I wonder about more than the volume. The louvered May be too quiet, but the Zombies May be a bit nastier than Im looking for also...still a tough call for me, but I have loud on the other bikes covered. Heritage is the most tour/parks friendly overall in my garage.
That bike form Laidlaw sounds killer for sure. I don't think you can go wrong with either and you can switch them if needed. When i ride they are plenty loud even with my full face helmet on. TAB makes a great product glad i got them.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. One option might be Zombies, but add DK Custom Thunder Torque Inserts...hmmm
Is there a good mounting point bolt hole about 2 inches from the end of the pipe (maybe where the endcap attaches) or would I need to drill my own?

I thought the same as you. Particularly after I saw Jamies video as his bike really sounded raspy and harsh when he hit the throttle. Its the video....believe me the zombie has a nice deep sound and is not raspy all. Now you take the baffel out and run straight you will get a pretty raspy sound. The best I can describe the zombie is you get the sound of an old pan head bike, if you remember ....its that potato, potato, potato sound. That continues at speed unless you really hit the throttle then you get the big roar! Good luck on your decision.
