Love the 21's i put in mine. Adjustables, inner bearings, newer style cam plate and hyd tensioners, with conversion cam....under $575 sourcing most of the stuff off ebay
I have andrews tw21 cams and cyco tensioner shoes in my bagger. Hard to beat the 21 cam. Wont win a dyno shoot out at bike night, but a great overall improvement in a stock 88ci bike.
That sounds good. Must be fun to ride.
Quick question though. Going to 95", is it
as smooth as before?

Look at Wood Brothers TW-6HG. I believe they also offered the link chain outer, and gear drive inner setup. Was used on their belt drive, but the belt drive could be replaced with a conventional link chain drive for the outer.

other than using the manual compression releases on startup, the only difference is when you open up the throttle. starts, idles, and runs as smooth as the stock 88" did, had it dyno tuned using the Screaming Eagle race tuner. also did the hydraulic tensioner upgrade at the same time.
On my EFI 2000 UC sig picture, I had Andrew 26 in it when I did the upgrade. It was not that bad, but I could not tell THAT MUCH DIFFERENCE. That included installing a PCIV and custom dyno tune. I remember 85 HP and 91 lb torque---but that is testing my memory.
I just had the Andrews 21N put in my 01 carb Springer and it is like they installed a different engine---no dyno tune---just a good wrench and his ear. Now the Springer is lighter, but even the exhaust tone is better. What I am saying is I tried both and the 21N works a lot better IMHO. Also, to this point, I cannot tell a big difference in MPG, (36-39) but I am on my 3rd tank since getting it back.

Starting to think about a cam upgrade for my 03 Heritage Softail, carb. Currently have 20,000 miles and will need to do something with the tensioners within the next ten thousand. Only want a mild upgrade, not looking for something that's going to get 10 miles to the gallon. Andrews 21or 26, S&S???, screaming eagle????. It has a Hi flow kit and stock pipes that have been opened up, so far.
I have the Andrews 21s in my 05 deuce . They gave my bike better power for passing on highways. But once it get very hot out 85 and up outside. I get a small amount of preignition if I dont use premium gas .
I believe Andrews fixed this with the 26 cams . Either cam is pretty mild
Ok thank you
thats what I was hoping. I've never ridden
an 88 that was converted. My goal is to
gear up (either a 34T trans pulley or a
27T eng sprocket) but I want to make
sure I have the horses to pull it. Plus I
do want it to be faster (Right??!!)
