Keep the bike, ditch the collision and theft, then get a big term life insurance policy. (not whole life or annuity) Maybe disability coverage too. Ride sparingly, she might soften up This approach worked for me.

This was my route....just finished up with a nurse who came to the house for blood and urine samples. Adding to policies already in place. I am officially worth more dead than alive. Asked my wife if I should now start sleeping with one eye open....she gave me "the look".
Long time ago I made a pact with myself no matter what I wont sell my two wheels. I will still do it for my loved one if that will be absolutely the last resort to help/survive but it will be last thing I will probably sell (maybe beside my clothes that I would be in).
Lately went through some tought **** (wifes stroke) but after while things started to come back to new normal. Supported my wife through hard times and one day she said I spend a lot of our $$$ on therapies so go and buy new bike and I did buy my current Slim. I wish you your wife will understand your need for two wheels and grant you your wish back after a bit of time. Maybe you should tell her this story and make a deal same way she made the deal with you earlier. You kept your word so hope she will return the favor.
As far as price I feel 13.5k will be quick sell price. You might try ebay thats hiw I bought my Slim. A lot of good exposure for 150$ you will have to pay in ebay fee after sale.
Congrats on the kid!!! It will be all good you will see.
