So the myth about the M8 running cooler then the twin cam seems to be untrue. Today I installed an old Power Vision I had from a past bike, only to use for its gauges. It’s married to another ECM and has no license for this bike so it can’t flash.
Anyway, one of the gauges I use is engine temperature. The temp quickly hit 280 around town and it was a cool 70deg day. I can only imagine what it will hit on hot summer days, and traffic. The numbers were pretty much the same at the hot running 110SE motor in my old Low Rider S, which was a notoriously hot running motor.
So much for cooler running. Looks like the SE stage 1 tune doesn’t help at all. Can’t wait until I hit 1K miles and the Red Line goes in... And a real tune goes on it.
