Post 2004 Fatboy security won't disarm

Morning all. I have a 2004 Fatboy and I can't get the security to disarm. I rode her yesterday with no issues. Got home, locked her up, and turned the alarm on with 1 long push on the key fob. The lights indicated the alarm was active. I went to go warm her up this morning for the trip into work and I can't get the security to disarm. 2 quick presses on the fob = nothing happening on the bike. I can hold down the button on the fob and the bike responds with the armed indicators, but 2 quick presses and it won't disarm. I thought maybe the battery was getting low in the fob... I changed it, still nothing. Baffled here. Any thoughts? Thx.

Billy

It could be the FOB button is wearing out. It's always easier to register one long push, than two short ones... I'd keep playing with two short pushes, of varying length and strength, to see if it will disarm.

I had a FOB on my '01 start to get a bit touchy. It would arm OK, but I had to try a couple times to get it to disarm. I got two new FOBs. Once the security is off, it's easy to mate a new FOB to the TSSM (your security module).

Most bikes came with two FOBs, did you try the other FOB?

If no second FOB, do you remember your code....? I'd use that to disarm the security and then get a new FOB.

It can be touchy to get alarm to disarm. Best description I’ve heard is it’s 8ke double click on your computer mouse. If you don’t. Click at the corrrect speed, I doesn’t work. I still have to try more than once at times to unlock it.

I actually have an extra brand new FOB that I would sell. I bought my bike with one fob. Week later, I bought second fob from dealer Friday afternoon. The next Monday, seller called to say he found other fob. It’s still brand new, never been used. But I did open package and look at it and apply included sticker to back of case. So I couldn’t return it. I paid 50, plus tax. Make reasonable offer.
