I'm looking for input on installing 3" extended reach foot controls on a stock 2007 FXSTC. Leaning towards HD's black, 49223-04A kit. Any insight on compatability or clearance issues, ease of installation (straight bolt-on vs. modifications), warranty concerns, etc. would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Stef
I just installed the Arlen Ness brackets on my 07' only $200.00 andIt comes with everything but fluid, and it took about two hours; pure bolt-on.And as far as I was told, the Harley part would not fit the 07. The might have changed that since then.
I installed (that is my dealer installed) the Arlen Ness 3" extension kit yesterday on my 2007 Deuce. Absolutely funking awesome product... totally changes the ride position for the better. No clearlance issues at all - I'm 6' 2" and i'm totally stretched out and wouldn't want to go any further. The side stand also moved forward and is j u s t reachable now to retract. From memory the part for the 07's is 07-611 (it is different fromthe 06 part) and its sooooo much cheaper than replacing the controls with the HD product. Of course if you want to change the look of the controls as well as the position, then thatsa differnet question and you'd have to go with the HD product i think.
Run a search on extended controls here, there is plenty of comment on all products. Be careful with the Kuryakyn... i think their kit is designed to compliment an installed engine guard and it's pretty chunky.
Is the picture in your sig with the extension kit? If not, do you happen to have a pic? I'm looking to extend mine and wanted to see what it looks like on the bike.
yes, the arlen ness 3" ext.reallyis amazing!!!!!!! I have a pic but photobucket isnt working....just order em up...theyre quick and easy to do. i did em in about 3 hrs, only bc i had a tight bolt strip out.
Appreciate the feedback. The Arlen Ness 07-611 kit sounds like the best choice for me. Most likely will order and install sometime over the next week or two.Meanwhile, I'llkeep checking back here for more insight. Thanks again!
