Default Bled front break now NO pressure

So I had spongy front break decide to bled did everything right. Got a vacuum break bleeder. Had air bubble for an hour figure I was getting air in the lines as the tube kept falling off so tried old school bled by hand . Of course none of the hoses on the nipple fit perfectly and had to hold it on by hand, anyhow went from spongy to no pressure what so ever . Would the next move to push calipers out or do I have a bad Master Cylinder ....little stressed. It’s a 1988 evo

So you let all the fluid out and now you have no brake. To say you did it right is clearly not true.

I use one of these
Amazon Amazon

and even though you are supposed to be able to bleed the brake on your own I still get some help to do the job.

The easiest mistake is not watching the master cylinder and having it empty letting more air back in.

Actually could not get basically nothing out . I managed to get the pressure back tight by strapping the lever in all night however usually in the morning spongy we will see tomorrow keeping it pulled in another day actually put powder on all joints to see if any air leaking or coming in think may have a pin hole leak somewhere but not seeing anything

Sounds to me like somehow you got air into the system. I would do it again by hand, carefully squeezing the lever to bleed and make sure the bleeder is totally closed before letting off pressure and making sure you keep fluid in the reservoir. You should only need to refill the reservoir two or three times to totally bleed the front line.

I am wondering if I have some sort of leak (air) at the lever side. Got the pressure back however when lever not pulled after a few hours spongy no leaks anywhere else put baby powder all over all joints etc nothing

Like the post above states, you still have some air in the system. It The air bubbles will compress and have pressure, but when you let them alone for a while they will expand and you will have a spongy lever. Speed bleeders are your friend: http://www.speedbleeder.com/ Go to the bottom of the Chart for HD: http://www.speedbleeder.com/Motorcyc...ley%20Davidson

A 1988 Evo...Come on, tell us what are you working on.

Front brake, one or two calipers?

Rear Brake?

Seriously? Come on man, tell us WTF you are working on...What model bike, front brakes (single or dual disc) or rear?

This is a 31 year old bike, are the hoses original?

How long has it been since the calipers and master cylinders have been rebuilt?

Head down to the hardware store and get some clear tubing that will fit snug onto the bleeder nipple.

Those vacuum bleeders are more trouble than they are worth, do it the old school way.

Ok found the issue the tiny metal original break line that comes from the Master C has a pin hole. Guess previous owner tried bending it . Yes so I have air in the lines and that’s why the speed bleeder didn’t work also agree about going ole Skool for bleeding.
i found this out by placing tape around the hose where the pin hole was when I had no pressure on the lever left it all night with lever pulled in got pressure back and has stayed for over a week which wouldn’t work when tried without taping the line. Looks like I will be getting a more modern break line .
thanks for all the feed back
