I've searched and been reading a few of the older and somewhat recent threads that have been started. Basically the floorboards are just not working for my current riding style which is mostly in the city and in traffic. Footpegs would be great and HD does sell a kit (33909-08A) but it states it's not compatible with the Lo (other's on this forum have said they work). But my main question is: are there no other floorboard alternatives? like a thinner, less long. Essentially with like the least amount of work and cost to switch to a "footpeg-like" setup. For instance, I've researched a few "Mini" floorboard option but it appears they're only for passengers or highway/engineguard setups? Are there no mini options I can just bolt up to the existing mounts?

if your ok with the basic position of the floorboards there are many styles of floorboard out there many are a lot more narrow than the stock Fatboy , so they wont stick out as much. But most are all he same length or longer.
Check the classifieds on the forum and ebay they probably come up for sale from time to time used

Oh I thought the forward controls were basically in the same position as the front of the floorboards since it shares the same brake line / shifter?
I don't mind the position of the floorboards but the length makes splitting through traffic a bit of a pain especially if I have to back up. Just surprised there isn't a mountable or mount to bolt up the same mini passengers floorboard or pegs to.
Guess I'll eventually just get the HD FC if there are no other alternatives
I just picked up a '16 Fat Boy S that has the black Defiance footboards on them by the previous owner. This is my first time using footboards and these actually work pretty well for me. I wear a size 9 boot and I am still using both heal and toe shifters. https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...07-50500640--1

Those look nice, but holy they are expensive. I think if I'm in that range I'd probably just get the forward controls

Were you able to mount the footpegs up to the stock setup? or did you have to get different mounts / forward controls?
