hello i would like to give my softail a boost in HP anyone have an idea? harley has the 96 to 103 kits but im not shur if thats the way to go or not or is there a better way
I went with the Fuel Moto 98" Big Bore kit. I don't live far from them so I had them do the install and dyno since I wasn't prepared to do it myself. They have different kits for different needs. https://www.fuelmotousa.com/c-120558...bore-kits.html
Whatever you decide to do... get a kit where the components are matched to each other.
Are you going to do it yourself?
Call some of the vendors, tell them what you're after, and have them recommend components to achieve your goals... Once you decide on a vendor/package and install the components, make sure to get a good tune, form a good tuner...
Are you going to have it done by a shop?
Find a reputable shop. Don't just shop for price. Make sure the shop knows what they're doing when it comes to tuning the engine. Once a trusted shop is selected, tell them your goals and follow their recommendations as they mod your bike from components, to install, and finally the tune.
Good luck, either method is an adventure that can be fun.... and if done right, the results will be even more fun...!
I went with the big bore kit. You can read the particulars below. I'm extremely happy with the result. A fun bike to ride. Not the fastest bike on the road but that wasn't my intention.
