09 Deluxe brand new rear tire rubbing right side only.
Just had a brand new Dunlop 402 installed on the rear and front and the rear is rubbing "barley" on the right side of the tire only. also noticed the front right bag bolt will not thread. The bags were left off after the tire installation and when I attempted to replace the bags approx 240 miles later the fright front bolt will not thread . during inspection to determine why it would not thread i felt the inside of the right side of the rear fender and it feels like there is zero clearance near where the bolt should go. anyone have any knowledge on this? I have listed pics anyone else have this issue before? REAR RIGHT BOLT HOUSING FRONT RIGHT BOLT HOUSING RIGHT SIDE OF REAR TIRE BRAND NEW NOTE ABRASION ABOVE LETTERS 09 DELUXE WITH 5200 MILES ON IT WHAT THE BAGS AND SPACERS LOOK LIKE INSTALLED ALL FACTORY THIS WAS BEFORE TIRE CHANGE. BAGS STAYED OFF AFTER THAT , PROBLEM WAS NOTICED WHEN I TRIED TO REPLACE BAGS. RIDES FINE NO PULL OR VIBRATION LOOKS LINED UP.
Did you put everything back the way it came apart (spacers)?
Did you align the wheel on both sides before tightening it down?
Belt tension?
You should have similar spacing on either side (fit your fingers on either side).
Thank you for your response Road Warrior, it was installed by a highly recommended shop recommended by trusted friends I will ask them once I return home.
Mine was a bit off center to the right when I had new wheels laced up locally. Not bad enough to rub, but it triggered my OCD'edness. Since the brake and drive pulley were in alignment, spacer swapping was out of the question. On the next tire install, I had the shop adjust the spokes to pull the wheel over.
On yours, it needs to be done now to keep from destroying that new tire
Take a look at the belt and rear sprocket to see if the belt is running true and lines up straight with the front pulley. If they made a mistake and swapped the spacers the rear pulley will also be out of line.
