They are different part numbers the one you got is, 68352-06 for 04-later Sportster. The one you need is 68319-06 for 00-02 Softail or 68328-06 for 03-later Softail.

There are five different ones depending on the bike you have, so I would imagine they are all different. They probably have different chips for the different bikes electrical systems and computer chips. Otherwise there would only be one part number for all the Siren 11 modules if they would work on any Harley.

Does anyone have their kit contents sheet/installation instructions? The siren's individual part number is 68970-06. Does this match what others have seen in their various kits? I keep thinking that the siren module itself is the same as would be found on other H-Ds, and that the only difference between each part number are the miscellaneous parts that come with each siren in order to mount it on the bike. Sound logical to anyone else?

j2dawson's experience putting what should have been part number 68318-06 for the Dyna into his 07 Heritage, which should use part number 68328-06, would seem to indicate that the siren itself is probably interchangeable, right?

Well, I finally confirmed that the siren unit itself is the same part number, 68970-06, in both (and probably all) kits. Install was a breeze: disconnect the battery, drop the plastic fender, snap in the siren, connect the wiring harness and away we go. Setting up the pager took a minute and I was all set. Tested everything: the siren works, the pager pages, and I feel a little better about my bike's security. Thanks for the help all!
