I've exhausted my search on this one. I run Power commander V on my Heritage, but as everyone knows, there is very very little space to place it at unless like some, you put a hole in your seat pan (not going to happen). So I place it on top of the battery, which seems to run fine. Now I also have a OBDlink MX2 running off my data port for An RPMitup App which is awesome. My concern is this. The OBDlink scanner is in the basic same area as the battery and Power Commander and I'm concerned about the heat, The OBDlink states operating temperature as -4 to 131 f. Anyone have an idea or opinion as to just how hot it might get under the seat and battery box area?
Flash tuners flash the ECM so you don't have to have the "box" connected to the ECM. This will eliminate the need for you to create space to put it in.
I personally don't like the box tuners, as they do fail at some point (had 2 die on me). Flash tuners don't have that problem.
