I had some new tires and bearings put on and getting some issues with reinstalling the front wheel on my 09 Train. Installed the wheel as per service manual but the rotor seems to be contacting the inner part of the caliper and the outer pad seems to be really far from the rotor? Wheel does not spin freely. Pretty sure I got everything put together correctly, anything look out of the ordinary?
Could the rotor have been bent during the removal/bearing installation process. I have done that myself.
I checked it and it's fine.
But the more that I think about it, I think I remember seeing that the caliper was super close back when I first purchased the bike, but the wheel turned freely. now after reinstalling the wheel without the caliper attached it spins like butter, but after installing the caliper it turns but requires a bit more force and only spins 1/8 a way around. Thinking of just putting a couple washers in between the fork and caliper to better realign it and see what happens.
Is it hitting the caliper, or is a pad dragging? Spread the pads/pistons out, see if that helps. Disk side bearing should be installed/seated first, then install spacer and other side bearing.
That is a aftermarket wheel?
Did you check the length of the spacer between the bearings to make sure it was letting the bearing seat correctly?
Should there be a seal over the bearings? Does not look like there is enough room there for a seal on either side.
