Default LED headlamp for 2010 FLSTF

Any recommendations on a aftermarket plug and play LED headlamp? Price ranges are extreme. Can’t justify 500 to 1 grand for a bulb. Thanks

If you ride at night for any significant amount of time, it's worth spending the money on a quality unit. I went with the JW Speaker adaptive for Reaper, and I couldn't be happier. The adaptive feature is a real game changer.

Cheers!

I first tried the Hogworkz halomaker on my FLSTFB but found that it has many dark spots throughout the light zone. Disappointing. I just ordered a Custom Dynamics ProBeam and hope to have it this week. It's almost double the cost of the Hogworkz lamp, hopefully performance is better.

Thanks for the info. Let me know how the ProBeam works. I got other mods being completed and won’t be getting the light for another month or so.

Got the Custom Dynamics and installed today. Will have to wait a day or two to test, as the weather up here is not cooperating.

One of the first things I do when I get a bike is swap out for an LED - I have had many years and 5+ bikes with Wisamic LED. However, so far I am really liking the stock headlight on my 2012 FLSTFB. Will see if anything changes, but those lights are very inexpensive and reliable in my experience

The cost of the light is certainly something to be concerned about, but proper function and design are also very important ... IMHO...

The quality units cost more money, because it is important to match the bulb to the reflector, as well as use quality components.. For best performance, a well designed bulb/reflector combination is essential and quality components are necessary for long life...

There are many who upgrade on the cheap by just popping an LED bulb in a non-LED light/reflector. They are immediately impressed by the extra amount of light, but it is not properly focused. They don't get the best performance from the technology, and in most cases the improper bulb/reflector match adversely affects oncoming drivers and vehicles they are following...

I am a firm believer in buying both quality components, and solid engineering/design when it comes to switching out any OEM lights...

I am also a fan of Custom Dynamics for both their products and their excellent customer support, and I have also used JW Speaker products with good results.

Good luck with your headlight mod..

So I've had the ProBeam installed now for a bit, and at first I really liked it. No dark spots like the Hogworkz. Unfortunately, I've since added auxiliary Hogworkz halomaker lamps and now the ProBeam looks yellow in comparison. I want something bright white, not yellow, so now I'm going to order a JW Speaker adaptive light from Revzilla. Will keep you posted on how that looks compared to the bright white of the halomakers.
