I'm looking for a sporty detachable windsheild for my 2006 Night Train. I'm having trouble deciding what to get. I like the looks of the HD Supersport, but I could go with a Memphis Shades that would be similar and cost less.
My main reason for getting a sheild is to have something to cover behind in a light rain on trips to keep the rain out of my eyes.
Also, I've heard the mounting kit on the HD brand is much nicer and doesn't require tools, whereas the Memphis shades requires an allen wrench (usually I keep one on me anyways)
My questions are:
What is the nicest Memphis shades for the "custom night train look"?
Which mounting hardware is the best quality and easiest to use?

No wind shield you get is going to keep the rain from your eyes. What you need is a helmet with a shield.
No windshieldfor sure. I just rode a 1200 km trip 700km mice sunny weather with my regular lid.The other 500km in the rain I brought my full face helmet w/visor just for the rain .The rain didnt slow me down a bit .Helmets are manditory in all provinces of Canada.
I did the Memphis Shades El Paso
it looks so much more sporty, even on a Fat Boy.
Here is the picture of the 17"
I sent it back for the 19" tall one
It is working out fine.
The way it leans back I'm looking about 4" over the top, even with the 19"
I got the HD Quick Release windshield for my Deuce. It's nice because there's no hardware left behind when I take it off. It just clamps on with four clamps on the forks. I normally don't use a windshield, but I'll use it for longer rides to cut down on fatigue. So when I saw HD made one that didn't leave any hardware behind, I was sold on it. The front end of my bike can stay clean, rather than have detachable hardware left on it when the windshield isn't on the bike.
