Default What caused this Inside out ding?

Can someone tell me what may have caused the two small inside out dings. I just bought this 2006 Fatboy recently and have never noticed these when cleaning. I'm at about 7500 miles or so. The cover is flawless except for those dings. The reflections look like scratches.

Thanks,

That’s a die cast piece, not sheet metal. Those “blips” are either bubbling of the chrome plating, or pitting in the mold the part was cast in.

Get it straight up on a jack so you don’t loose primary fluid and remove it to see if it’s dimpled on the inside.
If so, there’s something floating around in there.

Yep, nothing but the chrome popping i guess. I removed it and it's clean inside. I feel much better now! Thanks all! (still working on sizing the attachments correctly)

Well, since you got the cover off, drain it and put a new court of primary juice in there.

I'm planning on changing all the oil very soon. In the mean time what do those screws torque to? I gotta get a service manual.
Thanks again.

be careful with those screws, sometimes people use the wrong torques driver, seems like some use a 25 instead of a 27.
just saying keep your eye open especially since you don't have a manual.
