Default Push rod cover removal?

Any tips on removing the pushrod covers on a 2002 Deuce? It is not clear at all in the HD Softail manual. I want to install Arlen Ness Fat pushrod covers. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If the Ness covers are a replacement cover as opposed to something that just goes over your stock covers, this is more of a job than just removing your stock covers and replacing them with the Ness tubes. To get your stockers off you'll have to do something with your stock pushrods.Like either cut them or pull your rockercovers and rocker assembly then remove them that way.If you cut your pushrods out you'll have to go with some sort of adjustable pushrod and I'm not sure if the Ness covers are compatible with adjustables.Even if they will work with adjustable pushrods you open up the whole can of worms of adjusting them properly.

Thanks. Too bad they don't tell you that when you buy them! Oh well. I was told thepushrods can be disconnected without removing the heads, but I guess not. I was told they are adjustable in the harley, you loosen a nut connector and they separate.Guess the person was wrong!

Are you the original owner? Maybe somebody already put adjustables in there.Even so I'm still not sure if the Ness tubes will work with the adjustables.Maybe someone else knows. You don't have to remove the heads either way.You just have to get the rocker assembly out of the way, then you can pull the pushrods out the top.
