Default Riser bushings for springer

Is there a difference between springer bushings and others? I pulled my OEM rubber ones and they look the same as but not 100% sure. I'm getting mine from catalog/online so want to make sure before ordering.

Thanks.

Here's the update: I need either new bushings or a rigid kit. I added 12.5 chubby's on the stock risers and now I have play in the risers. I pulled the risers to get at the bushings and they appear to be the same as standard bushings but without two next to each other I can't be sure.

I'm going to check with local dealer parts manual to get the OEM part no for the rubber bushings. Custom Chrome and Drag have bushings listed that replace OEM part no xxxxx-xx. V-Twinn supposedly is the only place anyone has seen a rigid conversion kit for the stock risers.

A way for me to remove the play is to switch the risers but don't want to spend the extra cash. Should be able to find bushings for cheap and have this done in ten minutes.

I'll post results in this thread as I find out information since I'm sure I am not the only one looking for something like this. Any suggestions or links appreciated.

Springers are different from every other riser that Harley makes. I have Chubby Apes on my Springer and switched to poly bushings and they are great - very solid. My parts guy and I went through the Drag Specialties book and found them, but you cannot buy just the bushing itself, you have to buy the whole guts to the riser - about $65 if I remember correctly. Very easy install (and I am no wrench). Sorry, I can't help you with a part number or anything.

The stock bushings are rubber, and will not be strong enough to hold your apes. If you use them the bars might crack or you may have bolts come loose on the top clamp and cause a very dangerous situation. Get the Poly bushings as Bluzmn59 said and all will be good.

Still looking to confirm if these would fit a 08 FLSTSB CrossBones?

http://www.dragspecialties.com/fatbo...=gooden%20tite

Can anyone confirm if these are the correct style? (#7806-1055)? Has anyone installed these or any other springer specific riser bushings on a CrossBones?

#GT-FLS?
