I have a 06 Softail Standard (EFI) and I just put on the flush mount cap and gauge set from HD on my bike (page 350 in the 06 accessory catalog) I love them and it gives you a working fuel gauge with the look of not having either on both sides....if you want I could send you some pics. ? The LEDs for the fuel are under the chrome so when the bike is off you see nothing.
Hope this helps
Chris
I just ordered 2 mirage slotted gas caps. I want both of them to match. I will figure a way to install the cap on the left ising your idea roadtrain or something else.
Now with the wires you said I have to lift the tank and get the wires out of the bottom? Can you give me some more info please?
Thanks alot for everyones help.
What you need to do is unplug your fuel gauge wire from main harnes which is a connected under the fuel tank. You will have to lift the tank to do this, once the connector is appart you need to remove the plastic connector end. You require a small probe to insert into the connector to dislodge the wire ends which will allow you to pull the fuel gauge wire through the small hole in tank.
