Default Gas cap questions.........

I am looking into getting some new gas caps. My first question are the caps on my 06 NT vented? second question, the fuel gauge cap, can it come off by unscrewing it? (I haven't tried yet) I don't need the fuel gauge, I just reset my trip meter when I fill up.
Thanks alot.

Fuel injected gas caps need to be vented only if the tank isn't.

If I am not mistaken my cap is not vented and it is a EFI. There is a vent in the filler stem. No vent in the actual cap. It is up on the side hard to see. I found it when I thought I had a leak while filling tank with a gas can. It apparently has a small hose that goes to the bottom of the frame.

Thats true..but if you take the right cap off and look under it..you,ll see a "pinhole"...thats the vent...unless Harleys changed something again...

Ok,
so I need vented omnes on my 06 NT (Fuel injected)?
I also just want to get rid of the dummy one and replace with a custom one. Is there threads on the dummy one? If I cut the wires going to the dummy one ythe gas light will stay on the dash? Don't want that.
Any info would be great!

Not true at all, depends on if the tank itself is vented or not. You can buy both vented and non vented gas caps for HD bikes.

Show me a vented fuel tank on a Harley...not one with an "overflow".
