Default Lean angle on the Heritage

A couple of months ago American Rider did an article on the Heritage and they made special mention of how easy it was to scrape the footboards on turns.

Has anybody else had a problem with this. I'm seriously thinking of getting one but wanted more info on this.

If you ride it hard it will scrape quite easily. It all depends on your riding style.

it happens. startles you the first time or two. after that, you learn not to lean so hard in the curves.

I would'nt let that put me off. We have lots of turns around here. I scrape once in while. The problem is in the throttle...

My Fat Boy on the right side If I lean to much I scratch my headers and on left side I can scrape my floor board, but it is something I do not try to do!My bike is for the long road it is not a canyon carver, but it is a Caddy on the Big Road! PURPLE HAZE.

Hay, it's no problem at all for me to scape the running boards on the Heritage, keeps you on your toes, but, then after you've ridden for a while, you know your limits, you won't be sorry if you get one.

If you cut a corner too hard, you'll scrape...so what...that's the ride.....it just means that your riding your bike.
On my Sportster, I use to go out and scrape pegs just for fun....but the Heritage handles different....bigger bike....still, it's a great ride......

I scrape all the time. I have pegs on my crash bars that are a bit lower than the floor boards but very comfy. the bottom of those are ground down. My first scrape was on my first twisty road with the bike - about mile 25- it scared me so much I almost lost control of the bike - had to pull over - I was just not used to bikes so low to the ground - now it is a part of life

I scrape all the time. It all has to do with ground clearance.I scrape in parking lots, pulling out onto roads, etc... IMHO it has nothing to do with speed. I havemade some drag bolts to try to save my floorboards. Have to replace them about every two trips on the Dragon.
