I have an 07 Nightster, and found an 04 Fatboy, Pearl white, 200 miles on her, $14,000. How much do you guys love your bikes, how do they ride, all the standard questions someone in my position would want answered. Thanks in advance.
I bought my '07 White Gold Pearl in July, and I totally in love with the bike. It's my 2nd Fatty. My first was a '97. I love the way white looks on a Fatboy. I'm 6'1, and the riding position is perfect for me.
That FB will need some new gas, probably a tune-up, and the tires checked for dry rot. After everything is ship-shape I think you will really enjoy it!
I'm sure you can find a dealer for a demo ride on a fatboy, or maybe rent one for the day. You'll have side-by-side experience for what will be right for you!
A '04 Fatboy with 200 miles means it has sat a long time. I wouldn't judge all fatboys based on that one.
at 6 ft and 235 lbs, my Fat Boy carries this fat boy well! most of the other HD line-up couldn't do it andkeep mycomfortable level where I wanted it to be.
I'm shorter (5'6") than the others who mentioned it, but this bike suits me perfect. I don't need highway bars, I just sorta rest my heels on the floorboards. I am able to flatfoot both feet without any problems and it has the stock seat. I only mentioned these things so you wouldn't be intimidated by the "taller" riders. My Fatty fits me perfectly. If I choose, it could be set up for touring with the addition of a windshield, bags and a sissy bars. These things can easily come off to be returned to a cruiser. You can't go wrong owning a Fatboy.
I love my FATBOY! I have driven different models and as a matter of fact my Hubby wanted me to trader her in on a Street Glide (like his)..(so we would have matching bikes)...and although the Street Glide is a great ride ... I just can't part with mine.
It's an all around great traveling bike. I can load her up with my gear and spend weeks riding. Runs like a top, starts first turn over (even when she's been sitting in the garage for the winter months),great gas mileage ... and she's an '02!
I did a few little mods to her. Changed the seat and put risers on the handle bars. This winter I'm planning to have new pipes! Woo Hoo! Merry Christmas to me!
I love my 2008 FATBOY. I have mine set up for touring, but it is also great around town. That isthe great thing about a cruiser and especialy a FATBOY, it truely is an awesome all around bike. Some friends and I went on a 450 mile trip the other weekend and my but did'nt even get sore. I have always wanted a FATBOY, it is my dream bike. You really can't go wrong with a FATBOY. Can you tell that I am a little biased? LMAO.
