Default rear footrests

Rear footrests on my 07 Train just won't stay put when folded up,think the problem is with the new cotter pin/circlip type fixing, was ok with the standard pegs as they folded up past the verticalbut with my new chrome jobbies they are a nightmare, was thinking bout slipping in a couple of nuts & bolts then pinching them up real tight to stop any movement, anyone else tried this at all?

Bet you left out the cupped spring washer between the mount and peg when you replaced the pegs ! Never heard of someone haveing this issue unless they did not put them back in .

Make sure you keep the stock flat end washer in it's place or nopthing will stay up. If you still have it in place, add another washer to tighten up thetension against the flat end washer. Still, you should have no problem with any after market pegs.

I found that the additional weight of the flame pegs caused mine to drop. I eventually found a solution - I reversed the cupped washer that sits inside, between peg and mount ( and I even bent it a little more) to give greater resistance to peg falling down. I now have 2 pegs that stay upright! give it a try. If that doesn't work then many have gone for the nut and bolt option which for me is a second best.

I had mine changed before I took delivery so I can't comment on the originals, but for the first 500 miles my chrome and rubberonesdid like you describe... I would fold them up and when I'd get where I was going one or both would be down.
After about 500 miles (which came within the first week of riding ) they started staying put. Now they never come down unless I put them down... maybe yours willdo the same????
