ok did the new switch do any good
I have the sme problem I messed with it and got it working and
after riding for a short time i'm back to the same problem
I have taken the switch cleqar out of the circute checked the switch to see if it
is working and it is ok but I still have brake lights obout ready to rewire the damn thing
only hate to mess with an 04 should not be that much of a problem to replace grips

yes you need the new switch. if you did like i did you broke the tip of the switch off. it's hard to see but there is a little tip on the switch that allows the the switch to push in all the way. a new one cost $25.00 . your broke switch will apear to be ok. once you see the new one you will understand. be sure to use a spacer on the brake lever after you install the new switch.
